Start Windows Explorer

--> Double click 'My Documents' --> click the 'Folders' button

--> Click on 'My Computer'

--> Right click on the 'Local Disk(C:)' or 'C drive(C:)'

--> click 'Properties'

--> click 'Tools' (Tab at the top)

--> click 'Check Now'

--> If you want click the required check boxes but these may take much longer (20mins to 2 hours depending on disk size) or require a system restart

--> click 'Start'

--> click 'OK'

--> click 'OK'
