23 March 2007 Windows Vista ITunes problem - ITunes fails to play videos, screen keeps freezing during playback.
Possible Fix - Find where file vbscript.dll is on your PC (usually C:\Windows\System32) Next you need to go to start -> accessories and the right click on command prompt and click "run as administrator"-> next type "cd C:\Windows\System32" (use folder where you found the dlll above) next enter "regsvr32 vbscript.dll" This should then confirm that vbscript has been registered Try playing another video in ITunes to see if this fixes the problem 27 February 2007
Windows Vista - Some sites say it is not possible to connect many USB modems including most bt voyager I have found tht this is not entirely true. Some Windows Vista systems can use these even though the page says Not Available Yet for Vistaclick here 21st July 2006PC keeps attempting to access the internet at startup Everytime I start my PC it attempts to start my broadband or dial-up internet connection Some viruses, ad-aware, screen savers or even your desktop ill attempt to use a page from the web. Try disabling the screen saver or look at desktop properties --> 'Desktop' taB --> 'web' tab (A web page as your desktop is called active desktop) disable this option 1st June 2006Toshiba Satellite Pro L20 keyboard error Problem with the keyboard not typing all letters. This randomly occurs on any of the keys. Toshiba reported it is a known issue with L20 model. Requires a bios update to version V1.30 20th February 2006AOL Error - DNS Server unreachable or unavailable(24-01-08-033) This turned out to be Broadband ADSL error on the BT Telephone Line Very odd because the BT Voyager ADSL light was solid but it would not connect We also tried a Netgear DG834GT and this wouldn't connect either. Always make sure the router is connecting before trying to sign on to AOL Once connected do the following:- Start --> Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs --> select AO Connectivity Click change/remove Select the "repair" option then ok Start AOL and click Add Location Search for a new location The Broadband Connection should now be found and allow you to log on 2nd November 2005AOL Error - An error occurred while we tried to connect to AOL Service(25-02-23-014)At PC startup you can also get message : aolacsd.exe has failed , When you click close the error displays again Solution:- 1. Stop all spyware etc. 2. In control panel, click add/remove programs, click windows setup/components, uncheck communications then click ok. 3. Run regedit, delete winsock and winsock2 in HI_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet -> Services 4. In control panel, click add/remove programs, select AOL Connectivity and repair. 5. Start AOL, at add location choose other and enter 0808 9944001 (UK number) 6. Continue and logon with screen name and password. Please load ANSI version" This is an error on Windows 98 also caused after other software installs. ATL71.dll is not compatable with Windows 98 To fix this problem : rename ATL71.dll (e.g. to old_atl71.dll), then copy ATL.DLL to ATL71.dll and restart your computer. 18th August 2005Zotob - New virus zotob spreads across USA business A virus which infects vunerabilities on Windows 2000 machines has infected many PC's across the USA. The virus is downloaded to the PC and stops it from accessing Anti-Virus software sites as well as continually re-booting the infected machine. For the full story, prevention and cure click here4th August 2005 How to remove the Dialer-AE which also goes to Afris.biz and creates exe[1].exe on restart Run your usual Ad clearance and virus removal programs in safe mode, then find the files c:\cmd.hta and exe[1].exe and delete them. To stop the file from being re-created, I created a temp file called cmd.hta and made it read only and hidden. | |||
