Cannot open attachment

In outlook you get a message cannot open attachment

Windows does not recognise the filetype e.g. a dat file

It could be from any piece of software and your computer does not have that software installed.

Someties, you can hold the shift key down on your keyboard,
right click and then select "OPEN WITH"
When it displays "CHOOSE PROGRAM" try the following :-

paint, wordpad, word, excel, powerpoint, powerpoint viewer, paint or notepad


Depending on what the person has sent you get then to save in one of these more popular formats and send it to you again :-
rtf" jpg" bmp" doc" xls" ppt" pps

You should then be able to open the attachment
