How to stop Service Pack 3 from downloading, also called SP3

Microsoft Service Pack 3 problems with some Dell Computers and AMD Computers

Due to problems after installing Service Pack 3, if you have automatic updates switched on you may need to stop this update from downloading and installing.

To do this do the following:-

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click "Tools --> Windows Update"
4. When you get an option to "Express" or "Custom" Install, choose "Custom" and click "next"
5. Next to the SP3 update, uncheck the box to install
6. Now when you click install an option to stop notifying you of this update is displayed, click the box to stop notification and the update will be hidden from future automatic updates
