IPOD errors when connecting to computer

Please note this fix will lose all existing songs, videos and data on your ipod
so make sure you have a backup of all these files

Apple mac iPod fix
--------------------

1. First disconnect your ipod
2. Press Menu and Center Button and hold down for 6 to 8 seconds until the Apple logo is displayed, this will Reset it
3. Select the language
4. re-connect to your Computer
5. Start ITunes if it doesn't start automatically
6. Click Restore on the IPOD page
7. This will display a Warning, so confirm you wish to download and restore to Factory Settings
8. Click "SYNC" to copy back Tunes from your computer


If it is still failing then do the following:-

Unplug all usb devices except for ipod keyboard and mouse
Click start --> control panel --> system --> Hardware --> Device manager
Look for the usb mass storage device or ipod
Right click --> uninstall
Right click at the top usb device --> scan for hardware changes
If it says driver not verified click continue

Watch for the register screen as it re-installs the driver
Enter registration details or register later

IPOD should now be working

If necessary also try :-
restarting you computer and re-installing Itunes
